I really wondered ! what is this special role what Architect actually need to do in the Software project development. Usually when I get bored, I'd visited my office library there I found Yellow colored cover interesting, different from other technical books. It's look is like 'HEY DID YOU READ ME?'. Picked up from the shelf and walk for a while to see what content it had in it. Very impressive it is really amazing, matching to my current search.
Is 'Achitect' is a fancy designation?
Some of the Service based IT company don't believe that there is need of JEE architect. they think it is a fancy title role. that really looks akward to me they may be looking towards cost cutting and have limited title roles.
Why Managers uses Architects?
Because of most of the young managers don't have clear idea about how the Java projects run/go into live, the start pressuring the architect to do this and that. This loosing architect liberty that impacts the quality of delivery is expected from architect will b involving e obviously poor.
What actually Architects need to do?
This book clearly says that what JEE architect must does and also it covers common mistakes. It is very interesting.
Architect who helps the developers team when there is completion of their task by doing code review. this could be segments or snippet but some of the architects are forced to do complete code review for the every release. This could be reduced with peer reviews, team lead must handle module level code reviews.
Architect could be given space, ample amount time to do the R & D works so that innovative thoughts to form process improvements. some of the Managers asks if you are architect cannot you code? Yes but this is could be limited period and when there is situation that development team unable to find resolution for a problem.
